who we are
Namaste Missioni Consolata ODV was founded in 1989 following an experience of welcoming two Indian guests at the animation centre of the Missionaries of the Consolata in Bevera di Castello.
Namaste is in fact the Indian greeting and means "I honour in you the place where the whole universe resides. If you are in that place in you and I am in that place in me, we are one'. Formally, the Association was established as a Voluntary Organisation registered with the Lecco provincial section of the regional register in 1996. It is a member of the Lecco Committee for Peace and Cooperation among Peoples, of the Noi tutti migranti (We All Migrants) committee, and in 2019 it made the transition to comply with the regulations in force on the third sector and assumed the acronym ODV in its name.
